Enjoying the Spirit through His Word, L.J.

When I touched the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee as a Christian over 20 years ago, I was brought from only knowing that I had received Christ as my personal Savior to seeing in His Word that Christ was living in me, and I was helped to see that I had received Him into my spirit. I could experience more than just knowledge about Him; I could also experience Him as the life-giving Spirit in my human spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45, John 3:16, 4:24, 10:10).

I began to experience His Spirit when I prayed with His Word. One day while traveling on a bus, I was praying a few verses in John 14:1-4 and was filled with so much joy and enlightenment that I began to speak about the verses to different strangers that would sit next to me. Then, at the next city, I had to wait in the bus station for a time so I called the only friends I knew in that city. I didn't chit-chat other than to identify myself and my location. I then began to speak what I had seen of the Father's house and the many abodes in John 15. I shared that the Father had opened Himself to be our dwelling and that we are His abodes. The Father had made room for us in Himself! After hanging up the phone I proceeded to look for more people to speak with.

Twenty years later I still enjoy the Lord in His Word. Yesterday, I prayed over 1 Timothy 3:15-16 while I walked in the early morning. I began to call on the Lord and began to pray with these verses and began to sing the Word for 15-20 minutes while I walked. I sang to the Lord, intermingling the Word with praise. In addition, I simply read the text of Ephesians and later in the day the Word became so living and applicable for a new gospel friend I met with.

This ministry in the local churches has always brought me back to enjoy the Spirit through His Word, to become a living testimony of the Word of God.
